Eco Therapy in Monmouth County, NJ

At Operation HOPE, therapy doesn’t have to happen indoors. Eco therapy offers a calming alternative to the traditional office—combining talk therapy with the healing presence of nature. Held outdoors on our peaceful farm in Monmouth County, these sessions are led by Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) and rooted in trauma-informed care.

Whether you’re walking through the pasture, sitting beneath a tree, or simply breathing in the open air, eco therapy invites a deeper connection to self, surroundings, and healing.

Eco therapy is traditional therapy delivered in an outdoor setting. Rather than being in an office, you’re guided through your session outside—where fresh air and open skies support emotional movement and calm.

Nature naturally slows the nervous system. It lowers stress hormones, regulates breath, and helps clients feel more grounded—making it easier to open up and go deeper.

These sessions aren’t casual walks. They’re fully guided, trauma-informed counseling sessions shaped around your needs—with the outdoors as a supportive backdrop.

Each session is 50 minutes and facilitated by an experienced LCSW who brings both clinical knowledge and compassionate presence to the experience.

Being outdoors with a mix of quiet, shaded areas, open fields and peaceful pathways naturally encourages present-moment awareness, which improves focus and emotional regulation.

Every session is structured to support your therapeutic goals—but there’s freedom in how it unfolds. You may walk, sit, or reflect depending on what you need that day.

Eco therapy sessions are eligible for insurance reimbursement. We currently accept Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey and many out-of-network benefits. Our team will help you verify coverage and walk you through the process.
